E-4660 Yaw Bearing Issue
Original bearing used was identical to its smaller sibling turbine, 50kW E-3120 machine.
After simulating loads it was made apparent that this bearing should not be installed on this machine. Bigger rotor diameter, heavier nacelle and different operating conditions should have forced to use different type of bearing in order to support this machine, giving it enough safety margin to last 20 years of it intended lifespan.
